We're Keeping YOU Informed

Thank you to all of the neighbors who have called, texted, and emailed in information and photos of nutria and alligator sightings in our lakes during the month of March.

We are working with a trapper, Jay Laparouse, to remove both types of nuisance animals.

Nutria removal will be easier to accomplish this spring - Jay can set traps and remove the nutria until the dens are cleared out.

Alligators are always more difficult - trappers cannot shoot in residential neighborhoods and there are not traps that can be set. Jay has successfully removed several alligators from BBH lakes over the past few years, so we will continue to forward to him the tips and sighting information that BBH neighbors are able to provide us.

As always, please remember that in South Louisiana, anytime you are around a body of fresh water, you must practice caution. Alligators, water moccasins, and other animals you prefer not to have contact with could be residing in those waters.
