I could come up with a few designs, and would be willing to help do it with a few other Home Owners, so the cost would be material only. A couple of weekends it would be done.

That would make subdivision more appealing. Also, is there anyway we could keep the wooded area inbetween the front lake and walmart?? i would hate to see that 'buffer zone' go commercial!!!

24	Jan 21, 2010 9:04 PM	I know it requires a lot of $$ just to maintain what is already in place. I am interested in seeing the overall cost of HOA dues go down in the future. I didn't buy my house for the amenities in the neighborhood. But thanks to all the HOA board and volunteers--I know it requires a lot of time and patience to oversee the HOA. Surveys are a good idea. 25	Jan 21, 2010 9:08 PM	Things are getting better every year. More people are coming together and getting to know their neighbors. We should never expect 100% participation.....but we can always hope and pray for it. How many delinquent homes do we have? The Majority does not rule here... it is the smaller group of regulars and misc others that come together to make things happen. We need to start focusing on that until the 'Block /filing area reps are set up and function like they should...leg work is still being done so it might take time.

36	Jan 22, 2010 1:01 AM	Try to be more consistent in the rules. We have rules regarding fencing, several owners now have fencing in front of their houses. We also had rule regarding roofing, but several homeowners have metal roofs. I know it's hard to approach them after the fact... but if one person is allowed to do it you loose credibility for all enforcement.

I know there are some homeowners who like to focus on the negative, so a big thank you to our previous council members who were patient, courteous and dedicated to making this HOA better. I am confident that our new council will do the same.

Because of this, I have to drive all the way around to get to it, when it is a 6 minute walk from my house. Some type of walking access would be greatly appreciated.

The council voted to raise dues to cover the cost associated with th etake over from the developer due to loans etc. I would like to see less spending for new projects. We already have a pool, playground, clubhouse, tenis court. I think this is more than enough for the style neighborhood we live in.਍ഀ ਍ഀ Overall, council doing a great job. I think in the ecconomic times we need to be focused on how to save the home owners money and not think of new projects to spend money on. A reversal of the dues increase would be nice.

56	Jan 28, 2010 5:29 PM	My really big complaint is that dog owners are still allowing their dogs to poop all over the neighborhood. I know they are not our "children" and we are not their "parents", but it's disgusting and extremely rude and nervy. I have begun to blow my horn when driving out on Bluebonnet but most of them either flip me off or laugh at me. But, they are also allowing this in our yards. I would like to recommend some kind of fine for those violators that can be identified by Association members.
57	Jan 28, 2010 5:40 PM	I'd like to address the security patrolling one last time. I don't feel as though I personally reap rewards for paying the $30/month fee. I would much prefer seeing some exercise equipment being added than security patrols. Safety is important, but having to pay for security bec. some of our neighbors are not smart enough to lock their car doors is ridiculous. Any neighborhood will have a certain amount of break-ins, that's just life. But when you don't even take steps to mitigate such things, it's not fair to ask others to pick up the tab for your stupidity. When the subdivision had the Neighborhood Watch meeting, one guy actually bragged that he had things stolen out of his unlocked truck but that no windows were broken bec. the truck was unlocked. And then went on to brag that he still wouldn't lock his truck. Well, guess what? I lock my house and my car doors and I have never been a victim of a crime. So I shouldn't have to pay for security when others have that sort of attitude. And on a final note, I think that you guys have been doing a good job. I am delighted to see that the subdivision debt is nearly paid off, if not paid already. I hope that the new board does as good a job. Good luck.
58	Jan 28, 2010 7:15 PM	I think the council should be careful and not overstep their bounds. There are several things not being done right and it needs to be addressed. One of the most important things that was missed was the vote on the budget at the annual meeting. As of now, the new council is operating illegally on an unapproved budget. The way things are being done is a clear indication that this new council is not familiar with the neighborhood deed restrictions. I think these issues should be corrected before this council moves forward with any plans.
59	Jan 28, 2010 7:26 PM	The dues should be used to have an off duty police officer patrol our neighborhood on a part time basis. This year my truck was broken into and my Halloween decorations were stolen. I'm just counting down the days till my house is broken into. I think safety should be our number 1 concern. Because it doesn't matter how nice a neighborhood looks or how many fountains it had in it, if it's not safe. And this business about giving the houses on springglen ct the money to put up fences to keep the gardere area people out should be enforced. Halfof them didn't put up fences. They just spent the money on other things. They should be forced to put up fences. That is why my truck was broken into.
60	Jan 28, 2010 10:37 PM	In taking walks in Springlake subdivision, there appear to be common green areas. There does not appear to be an easy or common access to that area. Also, I would like to know the primary uses for those areas. Many homeowners have added fences in these areas. Does the HOA have an idea if these homeowners surveyed their property correctly?
61	Jan 28, 2010 11:44 PM	My only dealings with the association have been negative. When I first moved into the subdivision,(between the years of 2002-2006) the only contact with the association was the nasty, threatening letters I received. These were for problems that I was in the process of resolving, but no one took the time to talk to me so that I could explain. As a result, the neighborhood did not seem like a very friendly place.

63	Jan 29, 2010 1:38 AM	DO NOT get into the business of charging higher or lower fees for different lots with different amenities. That will be a nightmare for you. We all benefit from the neighborhood amenities. Those who chose lots on the lake already paid more for them when they bought their houses. With their own money, they can make changes to their yards to make special improvements to their lake-front (if approved by the board). The whole neighborhood can make updates to improve general usability and make it neat and tidy.

70	Jan 30, 2010 2:05 AM	I think the appearance of our neighborhoods from Blue bonnet has an effect on our property.਍ഀ If you do the fencing, only the old fences, I think each property owner facing the street should pay half, they also chose the consequince of their location.

The Lakelongwood is awful with the water level and filter system It smells during the summer and is our responsibility not Taylor Clarks believe me they have told me this over and over.
